Exhibition Launch: ‘The Artist, The Community, The Council & The Philanthropist’ and ‘The Hole in the Whole’

Eastside Projects

Abstract chalk drawing on a black background featuring swirling lines and circular shapes. The chaotic composition conveys energy and spontaneity.

Be the first to check out two brand new exhibitions:

The Artist, The Community, The Council & The Philanthropist by Verity-Jane Keefe in the main space is part soap-opera, part community radio play set in a neighbourhood in the city of ‘The Publics’ within a former Friends Institute, now a much loved community centre and charity shop that is crumbling through managed decline.

The Hole in the Whole, curated by Harmanpreet Randhawa with work by Ashkan Sepahvand, Valerie Asiimwe Amani and Phoebe Collings-James, is a wordplay turned poetic framework that delves into the incompleteness and fluidity of existence, proposing that there is always  a Hole – a lack, fracture, negation or fissure – in the totalitarian and Euro-centric ways that we have come to  know, understand and relate to the world(s) around us.

Grab a samosa and a drink at the bar. Everyone is welcome! Bring your friends
