The first gig of the new year features music from four brand new guests to Club Integral Midlands Branch joining us at The Edge, the home of our friends’ Friction Arts.

Emily C Smith is a folk, pop, punk, rock, rockabilly, songwriter artist and she will be performing with her bostin’ band. “The genre she has constructed is a powerhouse of creativity – built on talent and bursting at the rafters with spirit and attitude.” A.Hanna

Claudia Barton is a singer and actress. She previously sung with Gamine, and then Cloudier Skies with David Rothon. Her work is characterised by a rich cinematic atmosphere and an extraordinary literary authorial voice – echoes of Hemingway and Raymond Carver, channelled by Audrey Hepburn.

Abi Budgen is a songwriter, guitarist, time-traveller, Sister Rosetta devotee and self-confessed Country-Blues anorak. She aspires to make music that is honest, witty, sometimes surreal and always groovy. “effervescent…esoteric…energetic…and (occasionally) off-the-wall…” Tower of Song

Kali Louise, creative force behind Brum Radio‘s ‘Melody and Concrete’ will be playing us choice sounds from her wondrous music collection, to listen to adjacent to and beyond the live acts.

The finest Japanese eats will be served by Kam’s Daidoko (new menu ooh) and other refreshments available at a reasonable price.

All part of the monthly night of wonder that is Digbeth First Friday!

£6 on the door, £5 advanced tickets available at

Please note, The Edge is a cash-only venue. All ages welcome but under 16s need to be accompanied by an adult.
