One Foot in the Real and DEAD RECKONING

6.30-8PM

Eastside Projects

Responding to Verity-Jane Keefe’s ‘Standard Neighbourhood Office Floor Plan’, composers Abs Cassidy and Vato Klemera (Birmingham Conservatoire) present ‘One Foot in the Real’, an experimental movement and sound installation that further investigates Verity’s research into decentralised community infrastructures.

Four ‘movers’ will use the diagram as a map, exploring the space based on conversations with Verity around the parameters of ‘official’ spaces, and questioning ideas of audience / performer and infrastructural / imaginative space.

Ambient sounds recorded in different sites in Highgate will intermittently punctuate the space bringing the real world into this immersive, interactive experience. Come for the whole time, or just drop in.

Performers: Alex Kaniewski, Zahrah Hutton, Jamie Knowles, Eliza McDermott, James Abel

It’s also your last chance to see the exhibition DEAD RECKONING by Beth Kettel.
