While the country is in lockdown, charities are still working with Birmingham’s most at-risk groups. We are suggesting charities that need support. The money spent on beer, cranberry juice, or lemonade during a Digbeth First Friday event can go towards their ongoing work.
DeafPlus’ work tackles health inequalities and social isolation amongst D/deaf and hard of hearing people.
Their vision is an accessible world for deaf people, with barriers to participation and opportunity removed. Their mission is to empower deaf people to take control of their own lives, by developing their potential and supporting them to achieve independence.
