Stryx seeks to initiate and develop regional and national artistic collaborations in order to promote and strengthen an accessible and vibrant network of ideas and practices.
This is the second project in an ongoing series for Dinosaur Kilby. Taking the form of an exhibition, referring to a text by Mark Fisher, titled ‘Exiting The Vampire Castle.’ Kilby created a video work of the same name exploring internet echo chambers, political art and analogue vs digital.
Hung around the gallery are paintings obscured by poems embroidered onto the surface. Lampooning western art history narratives, Kilby humorously slanders names including Gainsborough & Reynolds.
Kilby collaborated with Kühle Wampe creating new video works and a zine exploring themes: traditional artistic mediums against new, white male narratives & post-internet art.
